A passion for current affairs and the world of politics, evidence of good communication skills and a minimum of a Grade 6 History and/or English GCSE.
A level Government and Politics is assessed through three two-hour examination papers that are each worth a third of the overall qualification. Each paper is based on one of the three ‘components’ that make up the course: Component 1 (9PL0/01) - UK Politics Component 2 (9PL0/02) - UK Government Component 3 (9PL0/03) - The USA Students are assessed through a combination of shorter and longer essays.
