Physics is the study of the natural world and at A Level Physics pupils will cover topics as diverse as the formation of the universe, to how tins of soup roll down an inclined plane. Physics is taught in dedicated well-resourced Physics laboratory by highly trained and enthusiastic staff. Physics underpins many of the technological and engineering advances that have taken place over the past century, therefore if you are considering a career in technology or engineering studying physics is an essential first step.
To maximise success at A Level we recommend: • A sum of at least 30 points from the top five GCSE grades • Grade 5 in GCSE English • Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics • Grade 7* in the subjects to be studied at A Level All applications to subjects will be considered. Students are encouraged to speak with the Head of Department, Deputy Head Academic, or Sixth Form Academic Coordinator who can advise further on suitability to the A Level course. *Grade 8 for Further Mathematics.
