The LSF Computer Science team is warm and welcoming and always happy to go the extra mile for the students. We are all experienced examiners/moderators at A Level, holding several senior positions for the OCR and AQA exam boards. Our teaching style places the emphasis on students developing their understanding through carefully thought through, practical activities, that encourage them to be proactive and independent learners. We like to think that studying with us is just the start of the journey into a career in Computer Science. Experienced programmer or not, we believe the Department has the capacity to help everyone we teach to flourish.
To maximise success at A Level we recommend: • A sum of at least 30 points from the top five GCSE grades • Grade 5 in GCSE English • Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics • Grade 7* in the subjects to be studied at A Level All applications to subjects will be considered. Students are encouraged to speak with the Head of Department, Deputy Head Academic, or Sixth Form Academic Coordinator who can advise further on suitability to the A Level course. *Grade 8 for Further Mathematics.
