Course summary

Economics is a social science studying human behaviour. Economics asks big questions and helps us to understand how the world works and how to make it a better place. It is at the heart of understanding the major social problems of our time, including climate change, inequality, global poverty, health care, globalisation, the impact of technological change on employment and creative destruction from the growth of digital platform industries; eective solutions to these problems require economic insights. Economics is at the centre of policy making by governments and banks all round the world to tackle the economic challenges which have resulted from the Covid 19 health pandemic.
