How you'll be assessed

Students will be assessed at the end of the U6 year across two components. Component 1: Principles of Design & Technology, is a 2 hours and 30 minutes written examination (50%). The paper includes calculations, short-open and open-response questions, as well as extended writing questions focused on a range of topics relating to the design and manufacturing industries. Component 2: Independent Design & Make Project is a non-examined assessment (50%) where students must undertake a substantial design, make and evaluate the project. This will test their skills in the designing and making of a fully working product.
