A Level Drama and Theatre combines practical and theoretical learning and will develop your performance and/or design skills, academic writing and independent thinking. Employers recognise that students of drama are collaborative, creative and problem solvers. Topics Studied • Devising – Creating, scripting and staging an original performance piece (performance/ design). • Text in Performance – Performing/ designing from scripted text in groups, plus a monologue/ duologue. • Live Theatre – Analysing and evaluating live theatre, exploring lighting, sound, costume, set and props. • Set Texts – Two set texts explored practically and theoretically from the perspective of performers, designers and directors.
General minimum entry requirement: Five GCSE passes at grade 6 or above with a grade 7 preferred in subjects to be studied at A level, and required in certain cases.
