Economics is the study of how societies, governments, businesses, households and individuals allocate their scarce resources to produce valuable goods and services, and how these are distributed among different people. This means that as a society, we must make informed choices to ensure that our resources are used most efficiently and ethically. Economics is for students who are interested in the ever-changing modern world and its interconnectivity. This subject is also about people and how we behave individually as well as in society. Students will be expected to take an active interest in current affairs, confront serious ethical issues and engage in debate and discussion.
