Whether studying Music at A level or immersing yourself in our extensive and varied extra-curricular programme, the Music Department at LEH aims to be a place where you can discover, harness and hone your creativity and musical interests. At A level, we follow the Eduqas course with two options - one specialising in Performing and the second specialising in Composing. The word "music" covers a huge range of different styles and genres, and everyone has their preferences and interests. The Eduqas A level specification recognises this through the varied areas of study and the choice of routes through this course.
You should enjoy a wide variety of music and be interested in learning about the various disciplines involved in the study of music. These include performing, composing, listening, and the historical / cultural contexts of different musical styles. You should have studied music at GCSE and play an instrument or sing to at least Grade 6 standard.
