Course summary

Introduction This qualification is offered at A level. By arrangement, it can also be taken at AS level. Students taking this course are encouraged to develop a critical awareness of the nature of politics and the relationship between political ideas, institutions and processes. They will develop an understanding of the structures of authority and power within the political system of the United Kingdom and how these may differ from those of other political systems. They will also consider global issues

Entry requirements

Students wishing to take this course should have a keen interest in current affairs. They will be expected to regularly read broadsheet newspapers. They should be able to demonstrate a good standard of English reading comprehension and written expression.
