What is Religious Studies A Level? ● Dynamic ● Challenging ● Rigorous The OCR A Level Religious Studies specification consists of THREE components/papers: 1. Philosophy of Religion 2. Religion and Ethics 3. Developments in Christian Thought Lesson will take the form of a seminar, with lots of discussion and argument. Occasionally you will present and lead a lesson yourself. Outside of the classroom you will undertake personal research. This includes reading, listening to podcasts, watching videos and commenting on contemporary newspaper articles. Essay writing is a key element of assessment.
Students usually require a minimum of five passes at GCSE grades 9 – 4, including Mathematics and English Language. Students will normally also need to have at least a grade 6 in the subjects they wish to study at A-Level, but each applicant is considered on an individual basis.
The A Level consists of three 2 hour exams.
