Further Maths has to be studied alongside the Mathematics A Level. As with the Mathematics A Level, Further Mathematics is a linear course with all four modules taken at the end of Year 13. You will study two compulsory Core Pure modules, which look at complex numbers, proofs, numerical methods series etc. with the remaining two modules being chosen from further Statistics, Mechanics, Decision or Pure modules. The Statistics, Mechanics and Pure modules will continue from the Maths A Level. Decision Maths however is looking at algorithms and how computers use these algorithms to solve complex problems such as the Travelling Salesman problem and the Seven Bridges of Königsberg problem.
Seven 9-5 grades in full course GCSE subjects. May include BTEC equivalent Grade 5 in English Language/Literature Grade 8 in Math
