The course is studied as a full A Level linear course (two years). Psychology at Farringtons covers the following subjects with equal weighting: • How memories are made and theories explaining why we forget • Social influence - how others affect our behaviour in sport, everyday life and situations when we are under authority • Research Methods - the many ways to investigate human behaviour are learned, evaluated and practised by students • Approaches in Psychology look at a variety of approaches to understanding human behaviour from psychodynamics to biochemistry • Attachment considers the formation of relationships and the effects of our first relationships upon our adult life • Psychopathology looks at Depression, OCD and Phobias, the causes and treatments are learnt and evaluated In Year 2, students build on Year 1 topics and also study Aggression, Relationships and Schizophrenia.
Seven 9-5 grades in full course GCSE subjects. May include BTEC equivalent Grade 5 in English Language/Literature Grade 5 in Maths Extended writing subject
