Working both individually and as a group students bond, learn and grow together, sharing ideas and understanding what it means to be creative and express yourself through your work. The course will help you gain a comprehensive understanding of photographic techniques, practice and history. Focus on a format of your choice, digital or analogue, still or moving image. Additionally, the role of the A Level course is to prepare you for Higher Education. Understanding contextual and critical analysis of both historical and contemporary works, coupled with essay writing in the second year will aid a seamless transition into undergraduate studies."
Seven 9-5 grades in full course GCSE subjects. May include BTEC equivalent Grade 5 in English Language/Literature Grade 5 in Art
The course is studied as a full A Level linear course (two years). All specifications will be 100% internally marked and externally moderated including the Controlled Assignments. In Year 12 students engage in integrated critical, practical and theoretical study in Photography. Students will be required to develop skills to record experiences and observations in a variety of ways and be expected to engage in integrated critical, practical and theoretical study in art and design. The course is made up of 2 components; a personal study with related study and EST (Externally Set Task).
