The Music Technology course is separate from that for A-level Music, with a focus on the production of popular music. There is no prescribed prior knowledge for the course, although some pupils may have taken GCSE Music, which will be helpful. An interest in and enthusiasm for all aspects of music production and its associated theory and history is crucial, and pupils may already be creating their own music using a Digital Audio Workstation such as Logic Pro.
