Course summary
Component 1 lays the foundations for students to learn, explore and create. They are supported, nurtured and provided with many opportunities to enjoy a fast-paced, exciting and challenging course that is not only highly practical, but that also deals with demanding semiotics and critical analysis of the visual world we live in. The course is both practical and theoretical. Photography is taught in a way that reflects the diversity of the medium in life today. Component 2: An externally set assignment where the emphasis is on developing ideas and exploring photographic possibilities. This will include the development of ideas and research leading to a fully realized piece of work, whether this is a print-based publication, book or moving image outcome.
