By choosing a creative subject to study you will develop an appreciation of, and engagement in, Art, Craft and Design. As critical consumers you will gain an understanding of its role in the creative and cultural industries that shape and enrich our lives. Enthusiasm and a desire to experiment with new materials and ideas is essential for success. You will be encouraged to record the world around you using a variety of media, from the traditional through to contemporary digital photography and manipulation. Studying a creative subject provides an introduction to potential careers in the visual and creative arts, fashion, heritage, cultural, digital and design media industries.
Entry into the Sixth Form is dependent upon ability and attitude, together with a minimum of five GCSE passes at Grade 5, or higher, including English and Mathematics, a Headteacher’s report and personal interview. Some subjects may require higher grades for entry to A Level.
Portfolio 60%: A practical portfolio of personal work with a related study on a topic initiated by the student Externally set task 40%: Based on a topic chosen from a pre-released exam paper
