Government and Politics is a subject that appeals to those interested in current developments in the UK and beyond, political ideas, debating and presenting political controversies. Essentially, all political issues are matters of argument and evaluation. Government and Politics will attract students who are interested in political causes and ideas, or are interested in different political systems and the impact of globalisation. The course will combine well with a whole range of other subjects, but particularly Economics, Sociology, Psychology, History, English and other Languages,
Sixth Form applicants are expected to achieve a minimum of six subjects in Grades 9 to 5 (including Mathematics and English) at GCSE, or international equivalent. Students are expected to have at least Grade 6 at GCSE in the subjects they wish to study at A level. Students wishing to take Further Mathematics at A level must have a Grade 8 in Mathematics at GCSE.
