Our BTEC programme is a good alternative to the A-level route to Higher Education. It is ideal for students who prefer to complete modular assignments. Each assignment over the two years is graded, and this mark counts towards the final grade. Students also take exams during the two years. Two on the Extended Certificate, three on the Diploma and four on the Extended Diploma.
3 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above. BTEC qualifications are recognised by 95% of UK universities along with international universities. Students are able to study the BTEC as one qualification (equivalent to 3 A-level subjects) or it can be studied along side one or two A-levels. We currently offer the following BTEC courses; Level 3 BTEC (National) Extended Diploma (3 Alevel equivalent), Diploma (2 A-level equivalent) and Extended Certificate (1 A-level equivalent) in Business.
BTEC courses are currently assessed on a continuous assessment basis. The Course Tutor provides students with a number of assignments to complete each module, typically 2 or 3. These assignments allow students to display their knowledge to a Pass, Merit or Distinction Level. These assignments are marked by the Course Tutor and moderated/verified by an Internal Verifier at Bosworth. There is also additional provision for the Qualification provider to verify the grading externally.
