This course offers students with a genuine interest in sport, as well as those looking to develop breadth in their options, the opportunity to study a challenging course combining both academic and practical skills. The course is split into assignment-based assessments and two external exam units, which can be taken at least twice over the course duration. The students who have opted for it are thoroughly enjoying the variety of teaching methods the BTEC content allows for. The variety of practically taught sessions leads to the development of leadership skills, as well as moral and social development.
For entry to the Sixth Form, candidates are required to have at least six GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, with Grade 6 or above in the subjects being pursued at A Level. Candidates are expected to achieve a Grade 7 or above in Maths and the Sciences if they wish to study these subjects at A Level.
