Course summary

Computer scientists are vital to the digital age we all now live in; from the apps we use to do our shopping to the technology taking humans into space, computers underpin everything we do. A scientific understanding of how computers work and how to create software using written programming languages is key to this and they are at the core of Computer Science A level. Alongside this Computer Science also teaches you how to solve complex, challenging problems – a vital skill whatever direction your career path leads you on. Entry requirements

Grade 6 in GCSE Computer Science. Those who did not have the opportunity to study Computer Science at GCSE will be considered if they have an A Grade/ Grade 7 in Mathematics and/or a clear interest in the subject (particularly those who already have programming experience).
