Course summary

Art is a two-year NEA course. Students have the flexibility to explore and experiment, refine and build upon rigorous recording disciplines set down in a portfolio style foundation programme designed to underpin Component 1. There are no suggested themes or starting points for Component 1 but students will be introduced to the course through workshops, which will help them to choose their path of investigation. Students will develop imaginative and creative powers, experimental and documentary skills, and a specialist vocabulary alongside an understanding of the practice of artists. Component 2allows students to prove that they understand the assessment criteria by producing a body of work independently. Success at A Level Fine Art requires, self-motivation, determination, and dedication. The course equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge required for future life.
