Course summary

You will study a variety of different topics including Social Influence; Memory; Attachment; Psychopathology; Biopsychology; Research Methods; Relationships; Schizophrenia and Aggression. You will also be introduced to a variety of different Psychological Approaches, Research Studies and consider Issues and Debates relating to Psychology.

Entry requirements

The normal expectation for entry to our Sixth Form is six Grades 9 - 5 or equivalent at GCSE, but we do consider all applications on an individual basis, so if you have any concerns about meeting these grades please come and speak to Mrs C L Wheeler or Mr Smith, our Assistant Principal (Academic). No prior knowledge of Psychology is necessary. It is suggested, however, that candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skills in mathematics and Science as the specification includes at least 25 – 30% focus on scientific research methods and 10% focus on mathematical ability.
