The subject matter includes: Atomic Structure, Bonding and Structure, Chemical Calculations, Energetics, Rates of Reaction, Organic Chemistry, the Periodic Table, Equilibria, Thermodynamics, Acids and Bases and Electrochemical Cells.
The normal expectation for entry to our Sixth Form is six Grades 9 - 5 or equivalent at GCSE, but we do consider all applications on an individual basis, so if you have any concerns about meeting these grades please come and speak to Mrs C L Wheeler or Mr Smith, our Assistant Principal (Academic). A strong grade in GCSE Chemistry or Trilogy Combined Science is advised. The A Level course develops in greater depth some of the topics in the GCSE course.
