Product design is creative and challenging. Students design and make products to solve real problems for people, Students design and make using computer aided and traditional techniques to help a specific client who has real influence over the design process. Designers are practical problem solvers: you will design it, you will make it. Lower Sixth Product Design bridges the gap between GCSE Design and Technology and A Level Product Design qualifications. Content: Students develop their knowledge and experience of materials, designing and manufacturing gained at GCSE Level. The course will maintain an equal balance between written examination and design and make projects.
Our Sixth Form entry also requires an interview with the Heads of Sixth Form, after which a conditional offer will be made and will be dependent upon agreed GCSE grade requirements. Our standard requirement is Grade 6 or above in the chosen A-Level subjects (or relevant subject), Grade 5 or above in English and Maths and Grade 4 or above in non-related GCSE subjects.
