The aim of the IB History course is to produce well-rounded, dynamic and erudite individuals with the confidence and understanding to address the issues and challenges of the 21st century and to develop skills of critical analysis. A variety of teaching methods are employed, involving much discussion and debate. Essay-writing is developed throughout the course so that students can present their arguments in a clear and well-focused manner. IB History students are encouraged to take an active role in the popular Lisk History Society, which provides an exciting and wide-ranging programme of activities.
Sixth form applicants need at least five grade 5s at GCSE but some A-level subjects need a higher grade. Assessment tests for those not taking recognised exams. There are no prerequisites for this course
