Psychology is the study of human behaviour using scientific methods. It helps society understand causes of behaviour and consequences of individual choices. Psychology develops analytical skills and develops curiosity of behaviour into understanding which can be applied to everyday situations. Topics studied include memory, social influence psychopathology, addiction and schizophrenia. Memory helps develop your ability to learn and recall information for exams, social influence helps you decide whether doing as you are told is always a good idea. Through studying schizophrenia and addiction, you will gain an understanding of these complex illnesses and their impacts on the individual who experiences them.
Sixth form applicants need at least five grade 5s at GCSE but some A-level subjects need a higher grade. Assessment tests for those not taking recognised exams. Grade 5 in GCSE Biology or Combined Science, Grade 5 in GCSE English, Grade 6 in GCSE Maths (or equivalent)
