The course contains a mixture of pure maths and optional modules in statistics, mechanics, discrete maths and additional pure maths. 50% of the course is compulsory and the remaining 50% will be made up of two optional modules. We will choose the modules based on staffing and the needs of the students on the course.
• Achieving at least 5 grade 6’s at GCSE including English and Maths. • Obtaining at least a grade 6 in those subjects students wish to study at A level (or equivalent).
The course is no longer modular and will be examined in its entirety at the end of Year 13. There will not be opportunities for resitting modules as before. There are 4 exams at the end of the course as follows: Core Content 90 minutes Core Content 90 minutes Option 1 90 minutes Option 2 90 minutes (For information, this year we are choosing the mechanics and the additional pure options).
