
On this course you will enjoy discovering key processes and systems that support life itself – from simple protozoa to the complexity of the human body or vast ecosystem. As you explore topics, you’ll learn how to critically evaluate scientific information and evidence to gain a broader understanding of how biology shapes everyday life. You will learn in high specification laboratories taking part in research in our ‘Pop-Up’ laboratory alongside PhD students from Edge Hill university. We have embedded career preparation activities within lesson to help you apply for your future steps.
College entry to include Double Award GCSE Science Higher Tier 6,6 (or above) or GCSE Biology 6 (or above) plus a minimum of either GCSE Chemistry 6 or GCSE Physics 6. You must also have achieved GCSE Mathematics grade 5 or above (please refer to the Entry Requirements section for further details).
100% Examination. Practical skills are embedded within the course and are assessed as part of the practical endorsement of the A level as well as in the written examinations.
