
This is a two year course and is equivalent to 3 A levels. The extended diploma gives students the time to develop their knowledge and understanding of business and offers the opportunity to develop practical skills for employment such as teamwork and management. The extended diploma qualification also allows students to complete work experience as part of the course. There are 13 units that will be studied, 7 of these are mandatory units that have been designed to give students a broad overview of business and business theory. Units covered include; exploring business, developing a marketing campaign, personal and business finance, managing an event, international business, principles of management and Business decision making. The rest of the course is made up of optional units. These units can include; recruitment and selection, digital marketing, Team building, visual merchandising and customer service. You will have the opportunity to complete assignments based on real business scenarios and will be assessed through coursework, external examinations and controlled assessments. Please note, you need to be very well organised and enjoy spending time working through a range of individual tasks outside of college as around 60% of your qualification will be assessed through coursework.
