The AQA specification studied encourages learners to take a broad view of Psychology by covering a range of relevant and thought-provoking areas during the two-year course. Students will delve into the minds of individuals to study why they behave the way they do, whether it is to conform or resist in society, how and why we develop relationships, or the way our memory can play tricks on us. Psychology offers students the opportunity to explore human behaviour and cognition, developing their comprehension, application, and evaluation skills through a range of topics. We delve into thought-provoking questions: How long does a memory last? What is the nature of love? Why do individuals engage in criminality? How does gender develop? Students are encouraged to think critically as they engage with theories and research and to read widely around the specified content
For all Level 3 courses, students require a total of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 or equivalent in vocational subjects. This course has an additional requirement of: Grade 5 or above in Science and grade 4 or above in English
