
The course is for learners who are interested in an introduction to the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information, alongside other fields of study. Topics that are studied include, Information Technology systems, Creating Systems to Manage Information, Using Social Media in Business, Website Development and Data Modelling.
College entry. You do not need to have studied Computer Science at GCSE or BTEC Information and Communication Technology. However, if you have studied these courses we would expect you to have obtained at least a grade 4 or Merit (please refer to the Entry Requirements section for further details).
The course is assessed through a mixture of exams, set tasks and course work. The information Technology Systems (unit 1) is a written exam, Creating Systems to Manage Information is a supervised assessment. The remaining units are assessed internally through coursework.
