The Health T Level comprises of core and occupational specialism components. Below are the core components. Core component A Working within the health and science sector The healthcare sector Health, safety and environmental regulations in the health and science sector Health and safety regulations applicable in the healthcare sector Managing information and data within the health and science sector Managing personal information Good scientific and clinical practice Providing person-centred care Health and wellbeing Infection prevention and control in health specific settings Safeguarding Core component B Core science concepts Further science concepts During the second year of the course you will study the occupational specialism of adult nursing. This will allow you to assist the adult nursing team with clinical skills, assist with skin integrity assessment and support individuals to meet activities of daily living. You will also complete the Supporting Healthcare component. This will allow you to assist with an individual’s overall care, assist health professionals with clinical tasks and undertake a range of physiological measurements.
To study towards a T-Level at St John Rigby College you will need to have achieved a minimum of five Grade 5s at GCSE. You must have achieved either a Double Award GCSE Science Higher Tier 5,5 (or above) or two separate GCSE separate science GCSE qualifications at grade 5,5 (for example GCSE Biology 5 (or above) plus a minimum of either GCSE Chemistry 5 or GCSE Physics 5. You must also have achieved GCSE Mathematics grade 5 or above and English Language (5). (please refer to the Entry Requirements section for further details). In addition to the academic requirements described above it is essential all students have DBS clearance
You will be assessed through written exams, employer-set project, case studies, practical activities and a practical discussion.
