I have gained a clear understanding of many of the issues facing the world today such as- the impact of globalisation, climate change, peak oil, environmental degradation and conflicts over water. The topics that I have covered in lessons are very much in the news on a daily basis. I now see why sustainable development has to be the way forward if the planet is to survive. The course allowed me to use knowledge gained in my other A Level subjects in a geographical context. I have learnt many skills, including data collection, decision making and research techniques.”
