5 x grade 4 or above including English Language and Maths. Grade 5/5 in Combined Science (Higher Tier) or grade 5 in Chemistry and Biology. Grade 5 in Maths.
The AS Level course is assessed through two examinations worth 50% each. The A Level course culminates in three examinations worth between 30 and 35% of the A Level. The papers contain a range of question types and the third paper at A Level is a synoptic paper covering the entire A Level course. Practical work is integral to both courses and is examined within the written papers at AS and A Level.
