
This is an applied, work related course specifically aimed at 16+ students. You will develop a range of IT specialist skills and knowledge, plus transferable skills needed in a wide range of careers. It will be worth the equivalent to 3 GCSE grades A*-C. The course consists of 7 units, including: • Unit 1: Communicating in the IT industry • Unit 2: Working in the IT industry • Unit 11: Multimedia Design • Unit 24: Animation Techniques Other units studied may include spreadsheet modelling, developing computer games and interactive media. What next? This course is suitable for students who would like to continue working within IT either in further education or within the work place. You will complete a number of assignments over the year which will make up your final portfolio of work. You will be assessed by a range of assignment tasks, including projects, written assessments, presentations, designing and developing IT systems and solutions. Internal deadlines will be set for units and must be met.
