
Why study Level 3 Sport? The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport engages students in a broad basis of study for future roles within the sport sector. This qualification is designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. What will I study during the course duration? Unit 1 Anatomy and Physiology: An examined unit engaging students in understanding how different body systems work including the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory and energy systems. Unit 2 Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-Being: An examined unit whereby students explore client screening and lifestyle assessments, fitness training methods and fitness programming to support improvements in a client’s health and well-being. Unit 3: Professional Development in the Sports Industry: Students will explore the knowledge and skills required for different career pathways in the sports industry. Students will take part in, and reflect on, a personal skills audit, career action plan and practical interview assessment activities. Unit 4: Sports Leadership: Students study what makes a good leader, the different capacities of this role, and the leadership skills and techniques necessary when leading activities in different roles.
