Year one You will study two areas of mathematics – Pure and either Statistics or Mechanics: Paper 1: Further Pure Mathematics 1 (written exam – 50%) Content overview: Proof, Complex numbers, Matrices, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Further Vectors. Paper 2: Further Mathematics Options (written exam – 50%) Content overview: Students will take one of the following four options: Further Pure Mathematics 2, Further Statistics, Further Mechanics and Decision Mathematics. Year two You will study three areas of mathematics – Pure, Statistics and Mechanics: Paper 1: Further Pure Mathematics 1 (written exam – 25%) Content overview: Proof, Complex numbers, Matrices, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Further vectors. Paper 2: Further Pure Mathematics 2 (written exam – 25%) Content overview: Complex numbers, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Polar coordinates, Hyperbolic functions, Differential equations. Paper 3: Further Mathematics Option 1 (written exam – 25%) Content overview: Students take one of the following four options: Further Pure Mathematics 3, Further Statistics 1, Further Mechanics 1, Decision Mathematics 1.
