Course summary

Year 12: Western classical tradition 1650-1910; baroque solo concerto; the operas of Mozart, the piano music of Chopin, Brahms and Grieg. Year 13: Two areas of study from pop music, music for media, music for theatre, jazz, contemporary traditional music or art music since 1910. The areas of study provide an appropriate focus for students to develop and demonstrate their appraisal and in-depth knowledge and understanding of musical elements, musical contexts and musical language.
