What Our Students Say: We decided to choose Media Studies at A Level because of its increasing relevance in today’s society. As we continue to integrate media into our daily lives, we are realising the impact that it has on representations of people, places and events. In today’s technologically based world, digital media is becoming extremely important in distributing news, delivering entertainment and growing political campaigns such as the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. Studying media at SFH6 teaches you a wide variety of skills that can be applied to many careers and subjects. The course combines theoretical and analytical elements with more creative and practical work. For example, we learn how to use software such as Photoshop to create film posters. Studying media at SFH6 is a rewarding and enjoyable experience. (Ruby and Sola Year 13)
