Sociology is the ‘study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society’. Over the two-year course, students will engage with a range of sociological topics and debate contemporary issues which allow them to analyse how society works. Throughout the course, students will also get the opportunity to apply sociological concepts and theory independently to their own research project. This allows them to immerse themselves as a sociologist and relate their knowledge and experiences to current Government social policy.
For all Level 3 courses, students require a total of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 or equivalent in vocational subjects. This course has an additional requirement of: Grade 4 or above in English
