A broad basis of study of the business world. This qualification is designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes others appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
Must have taken Business at KS4 and achieved a Merit or Grade 5 in GCSE Business, Or a Grade 6 is required in English Language and Maths. Demonstrable ability will be considered if you haven’t studied the subject before. Five GCSE Grade 5 or above including English Language and Mathematics please the subject specific requirement
Paper 1: Technical principles and core designing and making principles. Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes - 120 marks - 30% of A-level - Mixture of short answer, multiple choice and extended response. Paper 2: Designing and making principles. • Written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes - 80 marks - 20% of A-level Mixture of short answer, multiple choice and extended response questions. Section A: Product Analysis. – 30 marks Up to 6 short answer questions based on visual stimulus of product(s). Section B: Commercial manufacture. – 50 marks - Mixture of short and extended response questions.
