Introduction: This A-level is a relevant and rewarding course that provides students with knowledge and skills that are relevant to pursuing not only a career in computer science, but also any engineering or mathematical profession. In addition to developing their knowledge of the principles of computer science, including programming in a variety of languages, students will develop their general problem solving skills and complete a software engineering project in which they will design, develop and test a substantial piece of software. Computer scientists are creating the world that we will all live in and the demand for computer scientists looks only set to grow. This course will give you a deep understanding of how computers work and how we can program them to solve global problems. Minimum entry grades: a grade 6 in Maths GCSE and a grade 6 in Computer Science GCSE. Note: if you have not had the opportunity to take Computer Science at GCSE, you will be asked to provide evidence of your experience of, or passion for, the subject before we can confirm your place on the course.
