
If you already have a keen interest in politics and current affairs, opting to study this course will offer you a unique insight into our fundamental political beliefs and enhance your understanding of the modern world we all live in. The course will help develop your analytical and evaluation skills as well as providing you with knowledge and understanding of a variety of interesting topics on both UK and US politics. Throughout your A Level in Politics, you will be taught all 3 units of work at the same time by 3 different teachers. These are the government of the UK and a close look at feminism, the politics of the UK and an in-depth look at the three core western ideologies (liberalism, conservatism, socialism), and comparative politics with the United States.
It is a requirement that students achieve a grade 5 in GCSE English Literature or English Language, in order to access and engage successfully with the subject content of A Level Government and Politics.
