This enrichment supports your development and demonstrates you have what it takes!! Health and Social Care Practitioners work with a wide range of people in a variety of settings who are facing ill health or medical conditions. This WorldSkills UK competition showcases the values, behaviours and attitudes required to work in health and social care and what it means to provide quality care. Competitors will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control through a variety of practical exercises. The skills students need to demonstrate: • Health and Safety • Stress management • Empathy • Person centred • Communication skills • Moving and handling • Problem solving • Flexibility This is an individual competition and students must be working towards a level 3 qualification in order to enter. Most elements of the competition are remote, apart from the national stages. Competitors who are age eligible and have achieved the benchmark score will be invited to opt into Squad UK for the WorldSkills cycle.
