Offering clear skills progression from GCSE, this course allows students to build on the skills and knowledge already gained and to prepare for their next steps. Students study a range of drama, prose, and poetry; they read critically, analyse, evaluate and undertake independent research, all of which are invaluable for both further study and future employment. The key areas of learning embedded in the course will effectively engage A Level students from a wide ability range and help them to develop the key critical, creative and analytical skills required both for progression to Higher Education and for enhanced employability.
• GCSE English Literature at grade 6
All units are examined at the end of Year Thirteen, except for the coursework (20%), which is internally assessed.
