The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
English and Mathematics GCSEs at grade 5 or above plus 3 other GCSEs at grade 4 or above.
Examination and coursework: two exams in Developing a Marketing Campaign, and Personal and Business finance; and two coursework units on Understanding Business, and Recruitment and Selection.
