
This course would suit students with an interest in contemporary political issues and debates. It will offer students an opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of the role politics plays in relation to current local, national, and global issues, as well as studying key thinkers and political ideas.
A minimum of a grade 6 in English Language or Literature or a grade 6 in an academic, essay-based GCSE subject such as history, geography or sociology.
This course is assessed through external examinations. Each unit is assessed by a two-hour written examination taken at the end of the second year of study. The majority of marks are awarded for essay questions. As such, you will be supported during your two years of study to develop your essay writing and examination skills to best prepare you for the end of course examinations.
