
The Cambridge Technicals Sport and Physical Activity Level 3 Extended Diploma provides an exciting opportunity if students have a passion for sport and are interested in how excellence in coaching and leadership can be developed. Students will follow a vocationally specific qualification, which will develop a range of personal skills, and knowledge that will be essential for successful performance in working life. Students will study a range of topic areas, which will require them to participate practically as well as research and produce written responses to work related assignment briefs. Equivalent in size to one A Level, students will study five units of which two are examination and the remaining three are both internally and externally assessed.
Academy Entry Requirements: A minimum of five GCSE grades 9 – 4. Studying either GCSE PE or a vocational qualification in sport would also be beneficial
The course is assessed through both coursework and exams. Skills and knowledge will be assessed through practical tasks written coursework presentations and teacher observation and two exams at the end of a unit.
