
Medical Science in the UK is constantly evolving. The AAQ in Medical Science has been designed to reflect these demands. The course enables individuals to study the principles and applications of medical science and gives them the skills needed to succeed in their chosen pathway. This qualification is the equivalent of one A level and students will cover topics such as: •• Human Physiology, Anatomy and Pathology •• Health Issues and Scientific Reporting •• Practical Microbiology and Infectious Disease •• Diseases, Disorders, Treatments and Therapies •• Biomedical Science Medical Science particularly complements psychology, sociology, chemistry, physical education and sport and health and social care*. However, it is also a good option to take as a science subject along with a mixture of other non-scientific BTECs or A levels. (*Prerequisite on DFE report Dec 24). This qualification is supported by several universities, including University of Nottingham, Oxford and Sheffield to name a few, to study degrees such as Nursing (midwifery, paramedics, adult health, child health or mental health), Sport and Exercise Science and Physiotherapy. It is eligible for UCAS Points.
