Children’s Play, Learning and Development is a fun and hands on way to learn about child development. It is a great course if you are considering working with young children in the future in any capacity. It combines the academic study of theorists and theories on how children learn and develop with the opportunity to put your learning into practise while “working” in an Early Years setting. You will be given the opportunity to put your skills into practise while completing three work experience placements in a nursery or primary school, where you will interact with the young children, their parents and other staff members. You will become one of the team, leading activities, accompanying trips and often officiating in sports day! As well as hands on experience, this course allows you to demonstrate your knowledge and learning through the completion of coursework alongside two external examinations.
